Skeletal Muscle (LM, H&E) [#18, 28]-

Skeletal Muscle (LM, H&E) [#18, 28]- The fibers of this type of muscle tissue are the largest of all muscle cells both in length and in diameter. They are cylindrical in form and run parallel to each other. They do not branch except in the tongue and muscles of expression. Skeletal muscle is distinguished by the presence of striations and nuclei which are sequentially arranged along the periphery of the cell. The peripheral location of the nuclei can be readily seen in the cross section.
