SEM 12-5- Within the renal cortex occurs renal
corpuscles one with and one without a glomerulus (G). The
urinary pole (U), vascular pole (V), capsular space of
Bowman (BS) and the luminal surface of the parietal
epithelium (PE) are visible. Barely distinguishable are many
elaborate glomerular epithelial cells (podocytes) sending
their cytoplasmic processes around the underlying capillary
loops. Note also the surrounding uriniferous tubule (T) and
the adjacent capillary plexus (C).
