THE SALA FAMILY ARCHIVES

A HAND LIST OF MEDIEVAL AND EARLY MODERN

CATALONIAN CHARTERS

Joseph J. Gwara, Jr.

Georgetown University Press, Washington, D.C. 20057

This hypermedia project was begun in the spring of 1996 by Jessica-Julia Vitz and is based on an undergraduate honors thesis written by Joseph J. Gwara, Jr., (School of Languages and Linguistics, Georgetown University) in 1982-83. The original intentions of Gwara's project were to provide a descriptive survey of a collection of Catalonian manuscripts discovered in the early 1980s in the Georgetown University Library; Gwara then expanded the project to include manuscripts belonging to the Sala family collection found in other libraries.

This hypermedia edition presents Joseph Gwara's introduction to the Sala family archives, the descriptions of the 289 Catalonian charters and images of some of the manuscipts.
