Travel Information and Directions

Conference sessions will take place on the 2nd floor of White-Gravenor Hall on Georgetown University’s campus in Washington, D.C.  Click here for a map of campus and the location of White-Gravenor Hall.  Three plenary events will take place in ICC Auditorium, which is located in the ICC Building adjacent to White-Gravenor Hall.  
Georgetown Bus Information

The Key Bridge Marriott and the Holiday Inn Rosslyn are both located within walking distance (across the Key Bridge) from Georgetown’s campus.   To facilitate your trips to campus, Georgetown University buses will circulate approximately every 15-20 minutes between campus and the Key Bridge Marriott for the duration of the conference.  Buses will only stop at the Key Bridge Marriott, which is one block away from the Holiday Inn Rossyln.      
*Please note:  Start and stop times on Saturday differ from Thursday and Friday.*
For Thursday March 6th and Friday March 7th, buses will circulate from 5:00 a.m. to midnight  between Kennedy Hall on campus and the main entrance of the Key Bridge Marriott.   
On Saturday March 8th, buses will circulate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Georgetown University’s Henle Village (which is closer to White-Gravenor than Kennedy Hall) and the Key Bridge Marriott.  
A map of the campus bus stops (click here) with directions to White-Gravenor Hall will be available at the front desks of both the Marriott and the Holiday Inn.

On March 7th at 6:15 p.m., Michèle Sarde will be speaking at the Maison Française of the French Embassy.  A reception will follow her speech.  The Embassy is about a five-minute walk from campus and is located at 4101 Reservoir Road NW.  The map to the Embassy (below) will be placed in your registration packets.  
















There will also be people available to escort groups of colleagues on foot to the Embassy.  For those who prefer to take a bus to the Embassy, there will be a bus waiting at the Main Gate of Georgetown University (at 37th & O Streets).  The bus is scheduled to depart at 5:45 p.m.   Two buses will be circulating between the Embassy and the Key Bridge Marriott from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m on Friday, March 7th.

For those traveling to D.C. by plane: 
  Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the most convenient destination.  It is located within a 15-minute cab ride to the Key Bridge Marriott.  
  Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 40 minutes by cab to the Key Bridge Marriott. 
  Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), depending on traffic, is 1 to 2 hours by cab to the Key Bridge Marriott.  Flights into BWI are often the least expensive.

Super Shuttle also provides services (for about half the cost of a cab ride) to anywhere in the D.C. area.  No conference shuttle will be provided.

Amtrak trains arrive at Union Station.  

Participants may also take the Washington, D.C. Metro from Union Station and Reagan National Airport to Rosslyn station (just a couple of blocks from the hotels).  Metro is often faster than a cab ride, especially from Union Station.  Click here for a map of the D.C. Metro.  An express Metro Bus is available from Dulles International Airport to Rosslyn station for $3.
