Unit 4 Section 3Exercise 10 Panic disorderNewell

Clinical correlate #7 Panic/anxiety
Listen now to another Newell composition. goose egg Newell writes: “Often in the end what seems to make us most anxious ads up to nothing (goose-egg). Spurts of atonal saxophone and non rhythmic drumming (oh what am I going to do??) contrast with melodious guitar – (here’s what I’m doing! not so bad after all).”

Note the “atonal saxophone and non-rhythmic drumming” that surges to drown out the contrasting “melodic guitar”.  This pattern repeats throughout the duration of the piece, until the noise totally drowns out the melody right before the end.  What does this indicate about the nature of panic attacks  and their pattern of onset?
