Know all men by these presents that we Thomas How Ridgate, Hoskins Hanson and Ignatius Matthews of Charles County for and in Consideration of the sum of Two Hundred and Thirty pounds current money to the said Thomas How Ridgate in hand paid the receit where of he doth hereby acknowledge have bargaind and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto Nicholas Lewis Sewall the following five negores Jerry, George, Nanny, Baptist, and Frank and one bay mare {a cub wet?} formerly the property of Walter Pye to have and to hold the said Negroes and mare unto him the said Nicholas Lewis Sewall his heirs exors admons and assigns and the said Thomas How Ridgate my heirs exors and admons the said negroes and mare before bargaind and sold to him the said Nicholas Lewis Sewall -- against all persons will for ever warrant and defend --

And we the said Hoskins Hanson and Ignatius Matthews as Trustees to the said Walker Pye an Insolvent Debtor do assign Transfer and make over unto the said Nicholas Lewis Sewall -- his heirs exors and admons all our right title Interest and Claim in and to the said negroes and mare Invested in us as Trustees to the said Walter Pye by order of the Honble the Chancellor of Maryland dated 14 January 1790. In Witness where of we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our Seals this Twenty Secoond February 1790.
