Services of The Georgetown Center

The Georgetown Center provides a number of services at the parish, diocesan, regional, and national levels.

• Conferences and Workshops
  • For many years, GCL has designed, coordinated, and sponsored a wide range of conferences and workshops on the local, regional, and national levels. Past conferences include: Form/Reform (since 1986), Twenty-Five Years Since the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (1988), The Joseph Campbell Phenomenon (1991), Liturgy-Justice Colloquium (2003), and the Northeast Liturgical Conference (2003).
  • Workshops have focused on a variety of timely topics in liturgy and spirituality, including the 2003 General Instruction to the Roman Missal, liturgical and mystagogical catechesis, Sunday worship, liturgical spirituality, celebrating particular liturgical seasons, worship and sacraments with children, and celebrating the sacramental rites.
  • In addition to such events sponsored by GCL, the Center also stands ready to craft conferences and workshops for individual and/or groups of parishes, deaneries, dioceses, religious communities, and schools on liturgical topics of interest. If you are interested in having GCL work with you on creating, coordinating, and/or presenting a conference or workshop in your locale, please contact Fr. • Consultation on Liturgical Matters in Parishes, Religious Communities & Schools
  • Does your parish, religious, or school community want to enhance the quality of the worship experience? GCL can help by evaluating your liturgical celebrations and consulting with the community's leaders on practical ways to improve liturgical prayer.

• Work with Presiders and Preachers
  • GCL staff and a number of experts in the teaching of presiding and homiletics are prepared to assist presiders and preachers (priests, deacons, and laypersons) with honing their skills and deepening their liturgical understanding.

  • The Center provides complete services for designing, organizing and coordinating your next event, no matter the size, from community meetings to national conferences.

• Preparation of Liturgies for Conferences, Meetings & Conventions
  • Is your group or organization planning a conference, meeting, or convention that will include liturgy and prayer? GCL has years of experience in helping regional and national groups and organizations to prepare and coordinate liturgical prayer times that are woven into such events. Drawing on colleagues from around the country, GCL staff can bring together a team of liturgists, musicians, environment artists, dancers and dramatists to lead life-giving experiences of worship for events of any size in any part of the country.

• Q & A: Liturgy Help for Parish Pastoral Leaders, Liturgy & RCIA Team Members, and Catechists
  • Do you have questions about liturgical matters in your parish? Do you need resource recommendations, or simply want to discuss how best to respond to questions or concerns that have arisen about liturgical celebrations?
