Fr. Madden is the Founder and Director of the Georgetown Center for Liturgy since its beginning in 1981. He has served as Director of Campus Ministry and as a Member of the Theological Faculty at Georgetown University. He has been Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Theology at the Washington Theological Union, the Catholic University of America and has served as an advisor to the Bishops' Committee on the Liturgy. A frequent speaker at conferences and parish programs, he has written numerous articles and edited and co-authored several books on liturgy and American spirituality. He served as Pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 1993-2000 and, within the Society of Jesus, has served as religious superior for three communities. Fr. Madden is a Member of the Studies in Jesuit Spirituality seminar and the North American Academy of Liturgy on whose governing committee he has served. He earned a Doctorate in Theology and a Diploma in Liturgy from the University of Trier, Germany.

Anne is the Associate Director of the Georgetown Center for Liturgy. She joined GCL in 2002 after completing her M.A. in Theology with a liturgy concentration (St. John's University, Collegeville, MN 2000) and two years as the Associate Director for Education at the Center for Pastoral Liturgy at the University of Notre Dame. Before pursuing theological studies, Anne earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law. She worked as a trial lawyer in Toledo, OH for ten years, becoming a partner in her firm in 1996. Anne is the author of Sunday Mass: Our Role and Why It Matters (Liturgical Press, 2007). She has been published in Worship, Assembly, Liturgical Ministry, Spiritual Life, and Homily Service, and has edited three books, Liturgy and Justice (Liturgical Press, 2002), Vision: The Scholarly Contributions of Mark Searle to Liturgical Renewal (Liturgical Press, 2004), and Called to Participate: Theological, Ritual & Social Perspectives (Liturgical Press, 2006). Anne is an adjunct theology faculty member at Georgetown University, and a speaker on various liturgical topics at conferences and workshops. She is a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy and served as an advisor to the U.S. Bishops' Committee on Women (for the '04 - '07 term). Anne is also a lay Benedictine oblate of Saint Meinrad Archabbey.

Jeff serves as the Meeting Coordinator and Administrator for the Georgetown Center for Liturgy. His current projects at the Center include administering the Leading from the Heart-Long Distance Learning Program, project manager of www.envisionchurch.org, the Catholic Coalition on Preaching Convocation in Louisville, KY, (September 2008), the North American Forum on the Catechumenate International Convocation in Cleveland, OH, (November 2008). Prior to his coming to the Center he was a Bereavement Counselor at Joseph Gawler's Sons, Inc. in Washington, DC. Jeff is a member of the Religious Conference Management Association and works weekends as a funeral Director, licensed in Washington, DC and the States of Maryland and Virginia. He received a B.S. in Mortuary Science from Xavier University, Cincinnati and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA.

Paul serves as Program Coordinator for the Georgetown Center for Liturgy, Associate Chaplain and Director of Liturgy at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and works with parishes, dioceses, national organizations and liturgical publishers as teacher, workshop leader, liturgical coordinator and author. Paul is the editor and principal author of Celebrating Marriage, a popular wedding planning workbook for engaged couples. He has published articles in Commonweal, Liturgy 90, Today's Parish, Pastoral Music, Christian Initiation Resources, Today's Liturgy, Assembly, Worship, Modern Liturgy and Homily Service, and chapters in several books. He served as Book Review Editor for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. Paul currently writes a weekly column for Today's Liturgy magazine. He has an A.B. in Philosophy from Georgetown University and an M.A. in Theology (Liturgical Studies) from the University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Johan M. J. van Parys

Johan, a native of Belgium, is presently the Artistic Director of the Center for Liturgy's EnVisionChurch project. He also serves as director of liturgy and the sacred arts at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis, the curator of the Basilica's Pope John XXIII art gallery and directs the archival efforts of the Basilica of Saint Mary, teaches pastoral liturgy at St. John’s University, and is on the national board of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums.
He took graduate degrees in art history and comparative religious studies from the Catholic University in Louvain, Belgium. The art and architecture of the Middle Ages are his specialty. During his studies at Louvain he lived with the Benedictine community at Mont Cesar where he was introduced to the artistic and liturgical tradition of the Order of Saint Benedict.
He also holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Notre Dame. His doctoral dissertation is entitled: “A Place for Baptism; New Trends in Baptismal Architecture after the Second Vatican Council. He has served as liturgical consultant to several dioceses and parishes, both in the USA and abroad. His publications include articles ranging from art history to liturgical theology. He is a liturgical practitioner, a teacher, a writer, a musician, a dancer and a visual artist.
