Students who borrow through the Federal Perkins Loan program must complete online entrance counseling each academic year they borrow before their funds can be disbursed. This federal requirement ensures that students are aware of their borrowing rights and responsibilities before they enter into the loan obligation. If you are a first time borrower, you must also complete the Federal Perkins Master Promissory Note (MPN). Once you have completed Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note, the University Student Loans office will be notified. Loan proceeds will be credited to your student account within 48 business hours. Students may complete Federal Perkins Loan Counseling online via the Financial Counselor website. If you have any questions during or after completion of the online loan entrance counseling session you have the option of directing an e-mail to our office or to contact our office directly. |
