Current Announcements The AMCRF will sponsor a wine-tasting, hosted by Prof. and Mrs. Douglas Brown, on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, from 3:00 p.m. to ~ 4:30 p.m., in the Claire Boothe Luce Room of the Intercultural Center (ICC 563) on the Georgetown University Main Campus. The event has been scheduled for an afternoon (rather than an evening) in response to the preference expressed by the overwhelming majority of those who responded to the earlier announcement. Previous respondents are asked to send a check for $10.00 per participant (made out to Doug Brown) to him at 4212 N. 39th Street, Arlington, VA 22207 before November 25. If you have not responded to the earlier announcement but now would like to participate, please contact Doug Brown at browndm@georgetown.edu to ask whether there have been cancellations so that further participants can be accommodated. AMCRF members who are active in academic research are warmly urged to contact any member of the Executive Council to initiate an application for one of the research grants ($400) to be awarded by the Graduate School each academic year. The Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency headquartered in Washington, is seeking to engage retired Georgetown faculty members as professional volunteers. Contact LaMonica Shelton, at 202 606 6743 or LShelton@cns.gov.
